Grocery Discovery: Mrs. Fields' Cookie Dough Delights

So earlier, I decided to add a new category in my blog -- Grocery Discoveries. I just enjoy buying and trying stuff from the supermarket. Hee hee

First grocery discovery I'd like to share is Mrs. Fields' Cookie Dough Delights.

I dunno but the packaging was, for me, really enticing haha

I saw this in the chocolates section in SM Hypermarket, MOA. Yes, the packaging was effective for me. It's pretty simple but the spoon with the cookie dough...ahhhh, just perfect! It really made me wanna try the product!

It melted then I put it in the chiller. Hence the not-so-presentable look

The chocolate has melted as I brought it from MOA to Cavite. But don't judge the delight by its coating! The combination of the chocolate coating and the choco chip cookie dough inside was simply addictive! First bite and I loved it already! For me, it got the perfect sweetness!

Choco Chip Cookie dough!!!

Each pack has 6 bite-sized cookie dough delights and sells for Php 59.50. But that's a special introductory offer so try it now!

Beware though, especially if you have a sweet tooth like I do. It can be really addicting! :P

Tutubing Karayom

Have you ever caught a dragonfly?

Earlier, I was able to catch one again after X years!

Tutubing Karayom

I caught it twice and I set it free

I used to catch dragonflies when I was a kid. It was one of our pastimes back then. My friends and I would spend hours in the grassy areas in our street just catching dragonflies. There were the common green/yellow/blue tutubi, tutubing karayom (like the one I caught) and tutubing kalabaw (the biggest one).

Catching the dragonfly earlier made me miss childhood days. It also made me thankful for that period of my life. I just realized that I had a well-spent childhood. Some, if not all, kids (including my nieces)  nowadays don't know how to catch dragonflies! I think some of them haven't even seen one!

PNR!

The rain did not stop me and my officemate, Rosanne, from going to Divi. But that's not all! I also got to ride the PNR for the first time! The train is clean inside but it was like my ribs were almost crushed! Nonetheless, I enjoyed the experience as it's a first.

Buendia to Tutuban for only P10!

I've heard from people that riding PNR means battling for survival. It was really crowded, even if it's only Saturday noon. I just can't imagine how crowded it is on a weekday, during rush hour!

Now, I understand why the passengers choose to endure the hassle of squeezing themselves into that train though. It's simply time and cost efficient. Buendia to Tutuban is only Php 10.00, and you'll get there in 30 minutes. Riding the jeep, on the other hand, would cost you Php 13.00 (from Taft-Buendia to Juan Luna Divisoria) and you'll get there in 45 minutes to an hour, considering the usual heavy traffic flow along Taft Avenue.

I wanted to have a picture taken but I was too shy hahahaha.

Happy 1st Anniversary, Yadu!

Today is Yadu's first anniversary. There will be comical and band performances, an open jam session and 50% off on all Yadu bags! Too bad I have to miss the event because the weather's pretty unpredictable. Since I love my Yadu bags so much, I decided to post their pictures in celebration of Yadu's anniversary.

If you're not familiar with Yadu bags, they are patchwork bags that are one-of-a-kind. Yep! No two bags have the same design. That's kind of why I love them. Plus, the bags are really durable (tried and tested by yours truly) as Yadu rooted from Khumbmela, yet they come with lifetime warranty!

Last November, I knew about Yadu through CashCashPinoy. They offered a P250-for-P500 deal and I found it interesting so I got the deal. First time I visited the store, I was really captivated! It was like being in an enchanted forest with trees of bags!

Yadu bags hang from branches

It was hard to leave the store. In my second visit, I was with my sister and a couple of her friends, and the girl from the store noticed how amazed we were so she gave each of us a free coin purse!

My coin purse

You can tell how much they're used by looking at their photos! Hehe. What I love about the coin purse is that no matter how heavy the coins I put in it, it's still in very good condition -- No holes yet!

Ate's

I spent around an hour and a half checking out the bags and choosing which one to buy, but I enjoyed it as they were playing The Bird and The Bee at the store. Believe me, it was a hard decision because there's just so many awesome bags to choose from! And so, I ended up with 2 Yadu bags: Isvara and Lalita.

This is my Isvara. I simply love the combination of the fabrics.
Isvara. Can you spot it at the previous photo? :P

It's reversible too!

Now, my Lalita. This one's pretty big! Perfect for overnight and even shopping! What I love about it is that it has four "faces!"

"Face # 1" is my favorite!

Lalita also came with a free pouch.

What are you waiting for?

Go visit their store right now! They're located at The Collective, 7274 Malugay St., Makati City (near Cash and Carry). Remember, 50% on all bags tonight!

A Year and A Quarter: Buy 1 Take 1 at Flapjacks

Last Tuesday, Ryan and I celebrated our 15th month together. We dined at Flapjacks because they sent me this coupon (3 times!) thru e-mail. I got it because I signed up at Bistro Group's website.

Flapjacks' Buy 1 Take 1 Promo

There were only 6 dishes to choose from. I ordered the Country Fried Chicken Breast. It was served with Tex-Mex rice (which made me miss burrito!) and macaroni salad.

Country Fried Chicken Breast

What I loved about this dish is the creamy gravy. It was just perfect for the golden brown chicken breasts! It's just now that I remembered I'm allergic to chicken! Luckily, I had no rashes after having this dish. :)

I loved the creamy gravy! :D

Ryan ordered Fish Almighty which was also served with Tex-Mex rice and macaroni salad.

Fish Almighty

We were both amazed by the serving size! However, I guess it was just enough to make the price reasonable.

Big Creamy Dory right there!

Each dish is valued at P255 (if I'm not mistaken) so we paid for one plus service charge.
This promo will be until May 31 only. Yes, I'm sorry for the late post but hey, you still have 3 days! Haha.

Flapjacks is a good place to hang out and eat at when you need comfort food. It is one of the restaurants of the Bistro Group. Go to Bistro's website and sign up so you could receive e-mails about the latest offers and promos from Flapjacks, TGI Friday's, Itallianni's, Fish & Co., Billy Rock, Pig Out and Krazy Garlik. Once you sign up, you automatically get a P250 for P500 coupon. ;)

Award-winning cakes + Ideal Date Place = Kitchen's Best!

Ryan and I have been browsing different food blogs to have ideas where we can eat. Last week, he discovered Kitchen's Best through a food blog. We wanted to try the cakes because they're award-winning.

It was just perfect -- we had our delicious dessert in an intimate, cozy and sophisticated place.

Sweet slices we both loved :)

One of my favorite chocolates is Ferrero Rocher so I ordered Plaisir Sucre. I read from blogs that it does taste like Ferrero and they're right! Every luscious bite of it made me feel like I'm floating!

Ryan, on the other hand, ordered Mango Sansrival since he loves mangoes. Imagine mango float and sansrival combined into a more scrumptious cake!

See the mango chunks? They're sweet!

Now, take a look at the place.

Pastries ideal as giveaways

Love the white wooden chairs!

So if you want to taste award-winning cakes in an intimate, cozy, sophisticated place, check out Kitchen's Best Patisserie. It's located at Unit 5B, Building B Karrivin Plaza, 2316 Pasong Tamo Extension. They also offer other dishes like pasta and sandwiches but from the reviews we read, they were not that good so we just tried the cakes.

Here's their cake menu. Go to Kitchen's Best and order one! ;)

Shoe Hunt: Ballet Flats

Last night, I went on a shoe hunt with Ryan.

From Monday to Thursday, I wear my favorite pair of shoes with 3-inch high heels or my wedge sandals to work. Although they're comfy, wearing them everyday makes my calves get chunkier. I've been itching to buy a pair of flats because I feel like I should give my feet a break -- they're getting a bit abused already.

A day can be really stressful because of traffic, work or other factors and for me, to somehow lessen stress, you should wear something comfortable. And so, I wanted to buy a pair of flats with the following qualities:
1. won't give my feet blisters
2. woven sole
3. comfy inner sole
4. simple but cute design, of course!

Look what I got!

Viola ballet flats :D
Love the canvass flower!
Woven sole, yay! :D

After hours of rummaging through boutiques in MOA, I found the pair I've been looking for. :)
But I didn't notice this sticker before I bought it. :/

"...will not withstand extended outdoor wear"

I wore it to work earlier and I'm happy to say that it's a good buy!

Comfy :)

It's size 7 but thanks to the material used, I get to fit my feet in this pair!

I'm really happy with this latest purchase. :)

I wanna thank Ryan for putting up with my behavior of scouring the whole mall before making a purchase and also for being my trusty consultant. :)
